Annual Family Celebration Huge Success

This year’s Family Celebration, held on Friday, August 21 was an overwhelming success. We extend our sincere thanks to so many people and groups who helped make this event truly outstanding. Most impressive was the money raised by raffle ticket sales. Staff and families worked hard to sell tickets, and over $5,500.00 was raised – a new record!

This year we had over 50 prizes to offer in our raffle. Six bicycles donated by Dynacraft in American Canyon and tickets to Disneyland were the premier prizes. Other generous donors include businesses, museums, restaurants, and many others too numerous to list.

Thanks, also to Day Home friend Lourdes Alvarado for the donation of the jumper, always so popular with the children. Fenton’s Creamery donated ice cream and hats for the entire crowd. The folks at Prescott Circus came by and entertained everyone with their amazing, and colorful, talents.

We can’t forget Parent Board president Cherisse Harper and her team of board members who helped organize and manage the event, as well as our own staff who helped serve food, drinks, monitored games and did face painting. It was a huge effort, but the results showed.

We hope everyone who attended enjoyed themselves. We’ll see you again at Family Day next year.
