A Great Night Under the Big Top

This year Saint Vincent’s annual Children’s Choice Awards dinner featured a circus theme. Several staff and some of the children put on their best clown makeup and entertained a packed house of supporters and donors. Scott’s Seafood Restaurant at Jack London Square donated the space for the Big Top. The event featured a midway with games, a popcorn machine and a presentation featuring photos of circus acts and vintage circus posters. Special acts included the Ringmaster (Board member, Matt Haley) and fortune teller “Madame Fabula” (aka Board Member Hon. Kim Briggs).

This year’s honorees included Justice Martin J. Jenkins, of the California Court of Appeal; Kathleen Riley, long-term mathematics teacher at Bishop O’Dowd High School; and Day Home Family Services Director Carmen Baires.

City-National-BankMany thanks to our sponsor City National Bank, donors and guests, Scott’s, our Events Committee, the Board of Directors, staff and volunteers for all their help and support. As always, it’s because of you that as long as there is a Saint Vincent’s, there will always be a place for a child to call home.
