It’s Time to Adopt a Family

Click here to learn more about our annual Adopt a Family Program
The holidays can be such a stressful time for families who don’t have the means to provide gifts and special meals for their children.

You can make the season bright by providing gifts for a family in need. This is a wonderful family or community activity that brings the joy of the season to all who participate.

And, it is simple… we provide the family details and you bring unwrapped gifts to make a memorable, stress free holiday for all!

Adopting a Family Is as Easy as 1, 2, 3

Step 1: Signup

When you sign up by completing the application form below, we’ll provide you a list of your assigned family’s first names, ages and genders, their Christmas wish list, and a bit of information about their situation. A tax deduction form and drop off instructions will also be included.

Step 2: Purchase gifts

Not sure what to give? Gift cards are very practical for our families, and are a good option if you don’t have much time to shop. Some suggestions for gift certificates are: Target, Toys R Us, Old Navy, Walmart, Safeway/Pak-n-Save, or Lucky’s.

Additionally, our Family Learning Program encourages parents to share books with our children and teach them the value of reading, so books or gift certificates to a bookstore are always a wonderful choice. If you would like some book suggestions, visit our wish list here – SVDH Book Wish List

As a reminder, please do not include war toys or perishables. And if possible, we recommend you include the gift receipt, in case an exchange needs to be made.

Also, while the presents should not to be wrapped, the family would greatly appreciate it if you include wrapping paper, ribbon, boxes and tape with your gifts so that parents have the opportunity to participate in their child’s holiday celebration.

Step 3: Deliver (Holiday Cheer!)

We ask that your gifts be labeled with the name for whom the gift is intended and then dropped off at Saint Vincent’s Day Home no later than Wednesday, December 21, 2016 by 2:00PM. The Day Home is open between 7am and 5:30pm every Monday to Friday to receive your gifts.

Purchase Gifts on Amazon & Support the Day Home!

If you shop on Amazon, you can support the Day Home this holiday season! Simply use Amazon Smile and designate Saint Vincent’s Day Home as your charity of choice! With every purchase you make, Amazon will donate to the Day Home.
