Are you ready for one of the best parties of the year?! It’s time for the annual Saint Vincent’s Day Home Children’s Choice Awards Dinner. On February 27, we will honor two very special people: Jocelyn Burton, JD and Nancy E. O’Malley, DA. Each of them have made a difference to not only the children of the Day Home but of all children.
Jocelyn Burton, JD is a long-time friend of the Day Home and currently sits on the Board of Directors. She has over 25 years of legal experience and has served as counsel of record resulting in over 20 published federal court sections. Ms. Burton is CEO of Burton Employment Law specializing in Employment and Labor law. During her career she has served as Chief Attorney of the Superior Court of California, Santa Clara County. She was also Assistant US Attorney of the Northern District of California.
Nancy O’Malley, DA is Alameda County’s first female District Attorney. She is a nationally recognized expert in the advancement of victim’s rights. She has also received national and statewide recognition as an expert in violence against women, domestic violence, elder abuse and child abuse. In 2004, Ms. O’Malley was inducted into the Alameda County Women’s Hall of Fame, Justice Category. Under Ms. O’Malley’s leadership and vision, Alameda County opened the Alameda County Family Justice Center, which has become a model followed throughout the nation.
