A Perfect Day for Golf

The weather was practically perfect for the 12th annual Saint Vincent’s Day Home Golf Tournament held on May 12 at the Sequoyah Country Club in Oakland. A field of 84 golfers enjoyed a round of golf “Fore the Children” in addition to competing in a putting contest, closest to the pin, top overall foursome, vying for the Corrigan Cup and the Ladies team trophy.

Many thanks to tournament organizers: Board members Wayne Ingbritson and Matt Haley for all the behind-the-scenes work and advocacy on behalf of the children. Thank you to our Development team and their volunteers, who helped with registration and the silent auction.

We’d like to recognize our Presenting Sponsor – The Oakland Firefighter’s Sports Association and the Hole Sponsors: Charles Pankow Builders, Haley Law Offices, Hanson Bridgett LLP, Hon. Carol Corrigan, Hon. Laurence Kay and The Mohrmann Family. AB&I Foundry was our “I Don’t Play Golf” sponsor. Thanks, also, to the Sequoyah Country Club Foundation for their generous donation to the Day Home.

We also wish to thank our friends at Crogan’s Restaurant/Montclair, Fenton’s Creamery and Compadres of Napa for treating our golfers to snacks, refreshments and ice cream on the course. Cargill’s donation of “golf towels” is a gift all golfers need… a big “thank you” shout out to Cargill and Jill Singleton.

Finally a special thank you to all who supported this tournament; because of you, our children will have every opportunity to succeed and achieve great success in life.
