Families at the Day Home
At Saint Vincent’s Day Home, we not only provide quality preschool for children ages two to six, but we also are a family resource center. Our team is here to support families in so many ways. At the Day Home families find parent education opportunities, social services referrals, and more.
Families contribute to the Day Home as well. Our Parent Board is one way families can get involved. And our alumni love returning to the Day Home to give back.
At the Day Home, Family Support Is Key
Day Home families experiencing trouble or find themselves in a crisis situation initially consult with our staff. From there, they are referred to appropriate support services in the community such as the Department of Social Services (DSS), physical and mental health professionals, homeless shelters, or crisis centers.
Our professional staff provides follow-up, translation services, and other assistance to ensure comprehensive cooperation and collaboration.
Referrals also come to Saint Vincent’s Day Home from Children’s Hospital, Alameda County Department of Social Services, court referrals, and private agencies.
The Day Home Parent Board
The volunteer Parent Advisory Board provides advice and assistance to Day Home administrators and educators related to programs, activities, resources, and services. Together with the parents, staff and teachers work together to provide each child with a quality early learning experience. Our parent volunteers are essential in helping us create community and a sense of connectedness.
