The Share the Spirit holiday campaign honors Saint Vincent’s Day Home. Sponsored by the Bay Area News Group, Share the Spirit provides relief, hope, and opportunities for East Bay residents by helping raise money for nonprofit programs in Alameda and Contra Costa counties.
The East Bay Times’ article Share the Spirit: Saint Vincent’s Day Home is a lifeline for struggling East Bay parents shares two stories from our families. First, you can learn about Sherie Williams. When her sister could not care for her own children, Ms. Williams stepped in and adopted the girls. And a few years later, when her sister had a boy, Ms. Williams adopted her nephew too. With a brand new family, Ms. Williams turned to the Day Home for quality and affordable care and education.
The Share the Spirit goal is $10,000. This money will help the Day Home with our annual holiday event! We are asking the community to donate toys and books to give out as presents. Plus provide gift cards — for Target or a local grocery store — to help families buy winter clothes, food for a holiday dinner, and more during an expensive and stressful season. Consider donating via Share the Spirit today.
