A Letter From The Executive Director
Dear Friends of Saint Vincent’s Day Home,
As we wrap up the month of June, I find myself reflecting with immense pride on all that has unfolded at the Day Home—moments of celebration, growth, and meaningful connection that speak to the heart of our mission.
This month was full of milestones. We celebrated the resilience and joy of our students as they explored themes of love, identity, and belonging during Pride Month. We honored Juneteenth with powerful cultural experiences that reminded us of the importance of equity and community. And, of course, we marked the bittersweet transition of our kindergartners as they graduated and prepared to take their next steps into first grade—each child a bright light ready to shine in new ways.
I’m also thrilled to share that our toddler playground is now complete! This vibrant, thoughtfully designed space is a beautiful investment in our youngest learners, giving them a safe, inspiring place to grow through play. It’s just one of many exciting improvements underway, and we’re deeply grateful to all the partners who help bring these projects to life.
Looking ahead, our partnership with Oakland Promise opens the door for families to begin building college savings early, reinforcing our belief that every child deserves a strong start and a hopeful future. It’s just one more way we’re working together to nurture lifelong learners and build lasting impact beyond our classroom walls.
Thank you for being part of our community. Your ongoing support ensures that our children and families continue to thrive—in June and every month of the year.
With deep gratitude,
Alexandra Hilario
