About our Programs

Saint Vincent’s Day Home is a non-profit and non-sectarian Early Learning Center that offers high-quality Early Learning programs for children from low-income families in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Since its establishment in 1911, Saint Vincent’s Day Home has been a benchmark for quality education in Early Learning and youth development programs. Our program’s foundation is based on the understanding that children thrive in school and life when given the opportunity to grow in a safe and educationally enriched environment where they can develop intellectual and social skills while building a positive sense of self. We offer an extensive and comprehensive program for toddlers and preschoolers, a licensed kindergarten, and various services to the families of children who attend the Day Home.

Saint Vincent’s Day Home is a child development center that has a strong educational focus. Our teachers follow a well-crafted curriculum and daily lesson plans to ensure that each child reaches their benchmarks. We also keep a daily journal on each child to track their progress towards their goals and document critical health and behavioral factors that are essential for their success.

Our goal is to provide a safe and enriching environment that fosters children’s development. We take pride in our comprehensive program, which offers young children enriching learning opportunities that cater to their curiosity. Our HighScope curriculum is play-based and active, providing developmentally appropriate experiences that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each child. We believe that children succeed in school and life when they have the chance to grow in an environment that is safe, educationally enriched, and fosters their intellectual and social skills based on a positive sense of self.

We offer an exemplary and comprehensive program for toddlers and preschoolers, and a licensed kindergarten. Our innovative strategies are designed to address the physical, emotional, and cognitive needs of children, laying the foundation for their lifelong well-being, productivity, and success.

At the Day Home, we understand the importance of the first 5 to 7 years of life in building the foundation for a child’s future success. That’s why we have developed a curriculum that honors the irreplaceable nature and sanctity of childhood by creating a calm oasis where children are free to express themselves, learn, and discover their own unique value.
