My first job was working as a teacher’s aide for Tri-City Children’s Center (now Kidango) when I was home for the summer during college. This experience instilled in me a life-long commitment to education. I began this career as an elementary teacher school in Marginane, France. There I saw firsthand the value of universal preschool. I went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Education from UCLA. I was next a founding teacher at Extera Public School in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles. There, I taught fourth grade and developed a local history curriculum that connected classrooms directly with local businesses and historical sites.
Most recently, I was a middle school and high school principal for the Academy of Thought and Industry adolescent Montessori program. Working for Saint Vincent’s Day Home feels like a return to my educational roots, and I am thrilled to work with this incredible community.
